Amy Shirley is board certified as a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is originally from McCalla, AL where she attended McAdory High School and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She has been a resident of Tuscaloosa since 2003 when she came to the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in Nursing.

After graduating with a Bachelor's in Nursing in 2007, Amy began working at Princeton Baptist in Birmingham where she worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for seven years. There she cared for patients suffering from a wide variety of cardiac illnesses. While she loved the care she was able to provide these patients, Amy felt like she was being called to serve patients in a different capacity. She graduated with a Masters degree in Nursing in 2014 from UAB and returned to Tuscaloosa to work as a Nurse Practitioner. She began her professional career at MedCenter South where she worked for four years as a Nurse Practitioner.
